Οι Hedningarna είναι ένα group αποτελούμενο από 3 Σουηδούς και δύο Φιλανδές, που διασκευάζει παραδοσιακά σκανδιναβικά τραγούδια, δίνοντάς τους μία techno-Gothic πινελιά. Στο συγκεκριμένο album απουσιάζουν τα δύο κορίτσια και το Hippjokk είναι κυρίως ορχηστρικό (6 από τα 11 tracks) καθώς οι Φιλανδές είναι αυτές που τραγουδάνε. Βιολιά, γκιμπάρντα, γκάιντα, σαντούρι είναι μερικά μόνο από τα όργανα που θα αναγνωρίσει κάποιος, όλων ο ήχος όμως έχει παραμορφωθεί στο studio (όχι τόσο έντονα όσο σε προηγούμενα albums). Παρόλο που το Hippjokk δεν είναι η καλύτερη δουλειά των Hedningarna είναι το πλέον παιγνιδιάρικο.

Hedningarna is a group of three Swedish men and two Finnish women who perform a techno-Gothic version of traditional Scandinavian music. On this outing the three Swedes play without the two Finns. Since the Finns normally do the singing, six of the 11 tracks are instrumental, with the usual assortment of key fiddle, jaw harp, bagpipes, dulcimer, tambourine, and other instruments, all noticeably distorted in the studio (although less so than on older albums). Although Hippjokk is not Hedningarna's best album, it is probably their most playful. Enjoy...
